Wallpaper Bar & Kitchen

Portview delivered the ultimate stylish café and bar destination, Wallpaper Bar & Kitchen, within the menswear department of Harvey Nichols. The brief was to create a café and late-night cocktail bar for socialising and evening shopping as part of a self-contained boutique. Beautifully designed down to the last detail, the space is located on the lower ground floor and was the final area to be delivered in the menswear department redevelopment.

Location Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge

Sector Hospitality

The design is cool, contemporary, and semi-industrial, in keeping with the remainder of the retail area. The flooring uses a combination of different coloured marble in a ‘crazy paving’ layout that adds character and style to the scheme. The walls and ceilings feature a textured plaster finish, and the overall colour palette is light grey and blue, with further colour accents including terracotta, green and black in the flooring. The project included the installation of a new kitchen and a huge digital screen visible from the street, to promote the new space.

Key Point

The project involved a full strip-out and reconfiguration of the entire lower ground floor.

The 30-40 cover café offers movable and banquette seating, whilst the lighting assists in the transition from daytime dining to evening socialising, making it a truly flexible space.
