When the team opened the double entrance doors to this detached 1950s property, a grand marble floor and staircase awaited, along with voluminous rooms, waiting to be sensitively restored.

Portview opened up the ground floor into a series of rooms to create a family-friendly living space. Repeating colour schemes, natural materials, and armfuls of brass and bronze weave their way throughout a simplified ground floorplan; carefully planned for both entertaining and relaxation.
A new architecturally designed glass ‘link’ featuring a crittal glazed internal wall leads to a family kitchen with bold finishes, warmed up with woven rope pendant lights, wood, marble and a statement antique brass extractor hood. In the light-filled ground-floor living room, Portview constructed a coffered ceiling to guide the eye to the garden doors and beyond.
Decadently lacquered walls and woodwork in the ground floor office appear as a form of art, thanks to the depth of colour and lustre, which perfectly contrasts with a pared-back textural sisal carpet. Upstairs, the galleried entrance stairs were adjusted to retain the original features, whilst allowing for a substantial series of changes to the bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.
Key Point
The master bedroom offered a particular wow factor with his and hers dressing rooms and ensuites.
The second floor was furnished with an entirely new staircase.
